As increasing energy demand and call for sustainability put pressure on the fossil fuel industry, it becomes increasingly clear that renewables are the way forward. Unfortunately, the transition to clean energy won’t occur overnight. While a wait is inevitable, we can all look to do things to speed up the process. These changes are especially important right now as the Coronavirus pandemic has slowed down many clean energy projects or milestones set to take place this year.

A Group Effort

We all need to try and reduce emissions. To reach many climate-related goals in the next decades, experts stress that we need to reduce emissions by about 7% nearly every year. This is huge. A goal like that requires everyone’s help. 

Legislation is needed

While personal contributions matter, these can only go so far. We need legislation at the governmental level to see huge positive impacts quickly. It is a fact that a significant majority of emissions are from big corporations. The government needs to hold these corporations accountable for their mess.

We need to emphasize investment in clean energy. Direct investment is what renewables cleaner by the day and more available to people in all social classes. As renewables become more affordable, they will become more widespread.

A better future for all!

 Sustainability isn’t about being a democrat or republican. It isn’t about being liberal or conservative. It is about wanting a better future for our planet, our families, and our societies.

Last but definitely not least, we all need to educate ourselves. The spread of misinformation is important to the climate crisis due to the number of corporations trying to downplay it! Take some time to sit down and learn all you can about what is going on. Increased education on the issue is always a good thing.
