The Avengers are back once again! The group consisting of a billionaire genius, super soldier, and alien mutants have repeatedly saved humanity from a countless number of foes. However, can they save our planet from climate change? Faced with this , we decided to examine the  Avengers on their eco-friendliness to determine which are doing the most for our planet.

    Ironman

While undeniably the best avenger (sorry not sorry), Ironman isn’t very eco-conscious. He doesn’t have natural flying abilities and is yet to be seen on public transport. Between the energy required for his cars, jets, and suits, one can only imagine the carbon footprint used just to get him around.

    Captain America

America’s greatest soldier, leader, and environmentalist? Cap can’t fly or even levitate but it’s common knowledge that he’s got the energy to be able to run very long distances. When you pair this with his suit, that requires no energy, and his Hand-to-Hand combat skills that aren’t resource intensive, Captain America could be LEED certified. He protects earth not only from aliens but dangerous emissions as well.

    Thor

The god of thunder is an all-around all-star. He wears a simple coat of armor that’s reusable and flies around through the use of his hammer Mjolnir. In addition, he can summon lightning- CLEAN ENERGY! When we go camping, we should all aim to be like Thor- Leave No Trace!

    Hulk

This is a bit of a toss-up. Dr. Bruce Banner is a world-renowned physicist that probably has typically physicist traits like taking the subway, only buying locally-grown fruits and using reusable bags. However, his Hulk alter-ego is a whole different story. We can’t even imagine how much food and water it takes to energize a big green monster and keep him healthy. Also having to buy new clothes every time Bruce transforms into the Hulk isn’t exactly what I’d call sustainable living. Many questions need to be answered before we deem Dr. Banner sustainable but we’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.

    Spiderman

Your friendly neighborhood superhero is someone to admire. He rides the bus to school, web-shoots around New York City, and is known for doing minimal damage to his surroundings when battling enemies. From protecting those in Queens while also looking after his aunt and uncle, we should all strive to bring out our inner spiderman challenge.
