My name is Cory Thomas Jaeger, I grew up primarily in Elmhurst, IL (west suburbs of Chicago) although throughout my younger years I lived in a multitude of western Chicago suburbs. I currently live in Elmhurst and I am studying finance (major) and economics (minor) at Michigan State University.
I am a member of the Physis data team as a Sustainable Data Analyst Intern.
I have always been interested in investing and the accrual of wealth, however, traditional asset managing and corporate investing always appeared rather greedy. Over time I began to appreciate the concept of growing money with a purpose; knowing that I will help generate a positive social and environmental impact while growing professionally makes me proud to be a part of the Physis team.
Impact investing is the responsible way of growing your money, it defies the greedy wall street stereotype. Instead, impact investing aids in the preservation of society and the planet while generating quality returns.
Sustainability is exciting to me because it means that I am leaving a positive mark on our amazing planet and civilization. When you promote sustainability you are enabling and preserving the growth of future generations.
After letting the Physis team know that I was planning on being stranded on an island for the foreseeable future, I would bring with me an inflatable boat with rows (this would provide a great workout as well as a way to get off of the island), a large knife and a torch with extra fuel!
