Giulia, tell us about yourself

My name is Giulia Fonzi, I grew up in Milan, Italy, and moved to Switzerland a few years ago. I have recently graduated from high school and am now working at Physis as a Digital Marketing and Data Analysis Intern.

What is your role at Physis?

At Physis I manage social media, blogs and do marketing research and strategies. I also help the sustainable data team to analyze companies and their sustainable products.

What is your favorite part about Physis?

I really enjoy the team environment and the fact that we are mostly young professionals. Everyone is encouraged to speak openly and interact with each other during the weekly meetings. Our team always makes me want to do better and work harder, but my favorite part is that I’m finally concretely helping working in a company determined to help our planet and make a positive impact.

What does impact investing mean to you?

Impact investing is a new world to me. I believe it will be the future of investing and hopefully, more and more companies will decide to invest to make a positive social and environmental impact. 

In your opinion, what is the most exciting part about sustainability?

I think the most exciting part about sustainability is the rise of technological innovations to fight climate change and safeguard the environment. Sustainability is an increasingly popular and touched topic and I think that more and more amazing and innovative sustainable ideas, projects and products will emerge in the future.

If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only bring three things, what would they be?

I would bring my cat, my ukulele and match sticks.

What is a quote or mantra that you stand by?

I don’t have a favorite quote, but one that I really like is:” “You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn how to surf” – Jon Kabat-Zinn
