Katie, tell us about yourself
My name is Katie Passarello and I grew up in Palo Alto, California. Currently, I am a senior at Boston College studying International Relations with a concentration in Political Economy and Development. I am minoring in Managing for Social Impact which encapsulates all things corporate social responsibility and impact investing.
What is your role at Physis?
At Physis, I lead marketing and strategy. Working cross functionally with our developers, data team, and interns to build our marketing campaigns and communication channels.
What is your favorite part about Physis?
I love how fast-paced and creative Physis is. We are constantly working on new projects and changing the face of impact investing as we know it. It is exciting to be a part of something so revolutionary.
What does impact investing mean to you?
To me, impact investing means aligning your personal values and beliefs with where you invest your time and money. At the root of it, impact investing is about putting your money where your mouth is and creating a better tomorrow through tactical investing.
In your opinion, what is the most exciting part about sustainability?
Sustainability needs to become the baseline with which we operate — on a business level, a governmental level, and above all on a personal level. Sustainability is exciting because we are forced to recreate the way we approach both generic and longstanding problems in society.
If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only bring three things, what would they be?
A good book, a filtering water bottle, and a huge floppy sun hat.
