This past June, NASDAQ announced the launch of their ESG Data Hub, which aims to connect investors with expert-led ESG data sets from leading providers across various sustainability issues. One of the providers involved, RepRisk, provides ESG risk data on more than 175,000 companies and updates their risk metrics for both public and private companies daily for investors.
The ESG Data Hub is one of the more recent additions to NASDAQ’s growing suite of ESG solutions and product offerings. It will help provide a more comprehensive dataset regarding companies’ ESG profiles. The Hub also supports transparency and global comparability. All data available on the platform is connected to the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) set by the United Nations.
The Hub will provide investors interested in ESG with consolidated access to vital up-to-date information through a single interface. With datasets from leading providers across a broad spectrum of areas (such as gender equality, carbon emissions, and climate risk), it’ll be easier for ESG investors (and those interested in integrating ESG into their investments) to invest more accurately in companies that align with their values. The Hub also increases the validity of ESG investing, as more leading financial companies like NASDAQ continue to provide products and services related to ESG and sustainability investing.
Diana van Maasdijk, CEO of Equileap, one of the data providers responsible for providing gender equality data to the Hub, had this to say about the partnership:
“This launch reflects a growing interest in ESG data from investors. We are very proud to partner with Nasdaq and provide reliable gender equality data on their new platform. We know for a fact that companies with a more diverse leadership perform better and are more sustainable. Equileap’s gender diversity data helps investors make a difference and a return.”
ESG integration and other product offerings/solutions will see continuous growth among leading companies as the demand from investors increases. With NASDAQ being one of the leading global technology companies serving capital markets, steadily increasing its ESG offerings shows the importance of integrating ESG considerations for future investments.
At Physis, we stay ahead of the curb on ESG integration. Our innovative platform offers investors various ESG offerings and data to add to their investment portfolio. Join us today!
