Physis was born out of a simple yet transformative question: “How do you prove you are positively impacting the planet with my money?” Stefania, the founder and CEO of Physis, first encountered this question from an investor during her time as a fund manager. When the client followed up with, “Do you have data to show me?” Stefania realized the limitations of the current sustainable investment landscape. Despite having access to extensive analyses, company assessments, and policies, she lacked a clear and accessible way to present this information. That moment illuminated a gap between ambiguous ESG scores and the need for investors to truly understand their portfolio’s impact. Stefania saw an opportunity to bring clarity and transparency to sustainable investing.

Stefania’s passion for sustainability began during her undergraduate studies at Bocconi University and deepened during her Master’s degree at Harvard. Her career started with an ESG provider before she became the youngest impact-investing fund manager in Europe, overseeing a $100 million fund. She was also the first to publish a fund impact report. Stefania developed unique investment methodologies that generate competitive returns while creating positive environmental and social outcomes. Later, she became an advisor to institutional clients, helping transition over $90 billion from traditional to sustainable investments. Beyond her professional work, she guest lectures at top universities, including Harvard, has authored two e-books on sustainable finance, and mentors aspiring women leaders in the field.

Today, Stefania is recognized globally as a leader in fintech and sustainable finance. She has been named among The Independent’s Top 100 Climate Leaders, alongside figures such as Bill Gates and Stella McCartney. She has also been featured in the Innovate Finance Women in Fintech Powerlist and recognized as an Inspiring Fintech Founder at the NYSE.
